Welcome Fr. Cy Whitaker

My name is Cyril W. Whitaker, S.J.? I grew up in Sharonville, Ohio, and went to St. Michael Parish and School for eight years.? I graduated in 1970 and went to Archbishop Moeller High School; and from there to Xavier University, where I majored in classics and philosophy.? Immediately after college, I taught at All Saints School in Kenwood, Ohio, for three years, then one year at Lima Central Catholic High School in Lima, Ohio, ten more at All Saints, six at Archbishop Moeller, and one at Loyola Academy as a candidate for the Society of Jesus.
In the summer of 1999, I entered the novitiate, took vows in 2001, and went back to school in Chicago at Loyola University.? After three years of philosophical and theological studies, I went to regency at Xavier University in Cincinnati, where I taught in both the classics and philosophy departments.? After regency, I went to Weston Jesuit School of Theology and Boston College School of Theology and Ministry to earn degrees in divinity and theology.
I look forward to coming back to Cincinnati, where I grew up and went to school.? It’s a great city: it’s my home.
