Religious Education Catechist: Would you like to share your love of God and learn more about your faith at the same time? Catechists (teachers) serve on Wednesday afternoon. Detailed lesson plans and ongoing support are provided.

Children's Word Facilitator: Breaking open the Word and making it come alive for children ages 4 and up. Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered twice a month during the 10 a.m. Mass.
|
 |
Youth Ministry Small Group Leader: Small group leaders share their faith with high school students gr. 9-11. Each grade level meets on Wednesday evenings for 10 weeks.

 |
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): Facilitators help those interested in joining the Catholic Church reflect on life experiences through Scripture and the teachings of the Church.

 |
Inquiry Team of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA): Team members answer questions of those seeking entrance into the Catholic Church.
|
 |
Adult Education Committee: Members plan for Adult Faith Formation through bible studies, retreats, and other adult education opportunities.
|
 |
Baptism Preparation: Meet with parents to prepare them for their child's baptism. Four to five 1 hour sessions a year. Great opportunity for a husband & wife team.

 |
Marriage Preparation Team: Married couples meet with one to two engaged couples a year to discuss the FOCCUS questionnaire for 2 - 3 on hour meetings. Meet in your home or at the parish. Training provided.

 |
Spiritual Life and Worship Commission: The commission gives guidance to all liturgical ministries as our parish gathers together in worshop as a welcoming, prayerful and faith-filled community.

Instrumental: Play occasionally as needed. Instrument:

Cantor Youth/Adult: Lead the assembly in singing the hymns and responses at Mass and other prayer exercises.
|
 |
Tri-Parish Heart Song Youth Choir: Youth grades 6-12 sing once every month or so at SPC or IC. Rehearsals are primarily the hour before the particular Mass. Come join your voices (and instruments) in praising God.
|
 |
Classical Choir: Singers with some musical background rehearse on Wednesday evenings and sing most weekends, enriching our sung praise to God. Off during most of the summer.
|
 |
Contemporary Choir: Same as above but with diverse instrumentation and with a more contempory music style. Thursday rehearsals. Off most of the summer.
|
 |
New Life Funeral Choir: Supports families through music by singing at funerals. Sing as your schedule permits. No extra rehearsals.
|
 |
Adult Server: Primarily at Funerals. Indicate if willing to also service on weekends &/or weekday Mass. Select all that apply.

 |
Youth Server: Serve for weekend Mass about once a month.
|
 |
Eucharistic Ministry: Eucharistic Ministers distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at weekend Masses.
|
 |
Lector: Lectors proclaim the Word of God at weekend Masses and other services.
|
 |
Ministry of Hospitality (Usher): Welcome and assist with the many practical details involved in gathering to worship God every weekend. Families may serve as ushers.
|
 |
Ministry of Hospitality (Greeters): Warm and cheerful people are sought to welcome parishioners and guests to weekend masses. Families may serve as greeters together!
|
 |
Heavenly Cleaners: Volunteers to do light housekeeping of the church on Mondays or Fridays: dusting, vacuuming, cleaning pews, etc.
|
 |
Human Concerns Commission: Members evaluate the needs of our parish and community and organize services to meet those needs. Members seek to raise awareness of parishioners on issues related to peace and justice.
|
 |
St. Vincent de Paul Society: Members respond to the material and spiritual needs of others by making home visits, serving at the local Food Bank or at the St. Vincent de Paul Store. Also meet monthly for prayer, formation and support.
|
 |
Emmaus Meals: Prepare and serve meals to those in need. Area churches of many faiths take rotating turns hosting this meal which is served at The Salvation Army. Help serve Christ present in the needy of our community.
|
 |
Food Pantry: Helped stock and distrbute food to the needy on the 1st & 3rd Monday mornings. Serve each time or as you can.
|
 |
Ministers of Care: Lay ministers visit the sick, lonely and elderly who are homebound and/or in nursing care facilities. They share Eucharist, prayer and caring hearts.
|
 |
Ministry to the Grieving: Volunteers offer comfort to grieving families by praying for them, attending vigil services &/or the Funeral Mass.
|
 |
Activities and Communication Commission: Members are sought to welcome new parishioners as they register, to plan and carry out parish and tri-parish social functions, to oversee Coffee and Donuts and, in general, to enhance the welcoming atmosphere of the parish.
|
 |
Septemberfest (Parish Festival) Committee: Join a team of excited & committed parishioners. There are detailed guidelines to follow and you learn from others as you go. Though there are on going details to organize the bulk of the time commitment is the few weeks before the festival and the festival itself.
|
 |
Fish Fry: Help serve up the best fish in Cincinnati the first Fridays October - May. Money raised helps support our many ministries while YOU help parishioners & friends enjoy time together.
|
 |
Bingo: B2, N8, U're great! What's more Catholic than Bingo...well, maybe a lot. But, we can't deny the financial importance your dedication offers. Come join our team on 3rd Fridays. We'll meet your schedule needs as, together, we add one more piece to our parish's financial pie. Stewardship takes all forms!

 |
Parish Council: Be a member of our faith-filled parish leadership team. Meets 4th Monday to vision and plan future of our parish while supporting and encouraging ongoing ministries here at St. Xavier.
|
 |
Stewardship Commission: Faith-filled group that seeks to give thanks for all God has blessed us with, and helps others in the parish to do the same. No one on our committee is a "perfect" steward, but we, like you, try each day to grow in faith. We meet on the 2nd Monday of the month.
