Sunday August 20
Our next meeting of the St Xavier Young Adults Group will be August 20th after the 5pm mass. Food and drink will be provided. For those interested in service, the "Taste of Hope" meal at the Ronald McDonald House will occur on Saturday, August 12th from 8:00 - 12:00. There are 2 more spots available if you would like to participate. More info on the Taste of Hope program can be found here. Please note: there will be a cost (donation to the RMH) to participate in this service activity dependent on the number of participants in this activity. Specific details regarding the event will be sent to those who signed up.
Wednesday September 6
RCIA program begins. The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults will begin Wednesday, September 6 from 7-9 PM, and it runs every Wednesday through Easter. This is a parish-wide project of evangelization and formation. We invite friends and family to consider being fully initiated into the Catholic Faith through Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion. Sunday September 10
MINISTRY Come and See: Would you like to help out at Mass, administer the Body or Blood of Christ at Mass, or even help as a server. If you desire to help, please attend a “Ministry Come and See” session which is a brief (20 min) presentation hosted by Fr. Fairbanks SJ on serving as lector, altar server, or Eucharistic Minister. Come and see about it on Sunday September 10 at 11:30 am in the parish center.

Our next meeting of the St Xavier Young Adults Group will be September 10th after the 5pm mass. Food and drink will be provided. Our guest this evening will be Mr. Jordan Skarr, assistant to the Jesuit Provincial for parishes and retreat houses. Jordan will lead us in a discussion about today's Catholic parish, especially those with a Jesuit identity (like St Xavier) and the possibilities for young adult service, especially as it happens in the new Ignatius House community, an intentional community next door to St X church, designed for community life and service in the downtown area. Tuesday September 12
The Mary Ministry, a new spiritual venture for women, begins Tuesday, September 12 at 6:15 PM and will continue weekly for eight weeks. All sessions are held in the St. Xavier Parish Center. The Mary Ministry will be of spiritual and pastoral benefit, as well as an opportunity for sharing and support on a wide range of topics important to the lives of women. Rooted in Sacred Scripture and prayer, the Mary Ministry hopes to achieve what Jesus called, “the better part” of experiencing His presence. Fr. Matt Garr, S.J. ... the pastor at our sister parish La Virgen de Nazaret in Lima, Peru ... will be visiting St X parish this weekend and will be preaching at all the Masses. Father will also make an animated presentation Sunday after the 5pm mass in the parish center. Come for Peruvian food, drink, and a great way to know more about our sister parish in Peru. Friday September 22
We will have the privilege of hearing the reflections of Fr. John O’Malley, S.J. (renowned scholar and author of The First Jesuits, What Happened at Vatican II, and The Jesuits: A History from Ignatius to the Present, among many other books) who will address the topic: “Looking at Vatican II through the Eyes of Pope Francis.” He will speak at Bellarmine Chapel, on the campus of Xavier University, Friday September 22 at 7pm. This conversation promises to be very important for all those connected to Jesuit ministries in Cincinnati.
